Michael has a background in film and media including post-production. His photography is a natural extension of his visual exploration, with texture being an important focus for his work. His themes include the human gaze, with all its subtleties and complexities. As part of the CLARITY project, he will display photographs on plinths to emphasise and expose the individuality of his subjects. Technology will be used to explore the movements of the viewer engaged in their own visual exploration of the work. The collating of such data will be an important part of the whole experience - and will itself be crafted into a piece of art. This is a evolving project and Michael is keen on experimenting with the deconstruction of the human gaze in subsequent works.
‘Clarity’ is the culmination of a year’s worth of studio work.
